Shridhar graduated from Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering. During this time, he was involved in several projects in the field of medical imaging and medical devices, both as a researcher with the University of São Paulo and with the University of Pennsylvania, as well as a R&D Engineer with Dixtal Biomédica (now Philips/Timpel).
Shridhar later started his graduate studies at the University of Michigan, where he received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. His work, under the supervision of Prof. Domitilla Del Vecchio, was focused on the application of Control System theory principles to the emerging field of Synthetic Biology. During his graduate studies, he was also a visiting student with the Massachussetts Institute of Technology.
In October 2012, after finishing his graduate studies, Shridhar worked as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at Rice University under the supervision of Prof. Jeff Tabor and Prof. Oleg Igoshin. His focus was in studying methods to engineer custom bacterial patterns employing optogenetics. During his postdoctoral experience, he worked with a wide array of biological techniques and devices related to cloning, sequencing and culturing of microorganisms. Following this project, he joined the firm of Fletcher Yoder as a technical advisor in October 2015.
