John M. RaridenJohn graduated cum laude from Trinity University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. During his time at Trinity, he worked with both plant and animal systems and researched, among other things, the mechanism of ovulation in rats and the cell elongation in cucumbers. After receiving his bachelor’s degree, John attended the University of California at Davis and graduated with a Master of Science degree in Genetics. While at U.C. Davis he worked in the field of plant genetics, researching the genetic basis of microclimate adaptation in strawberries. After his time at U.C. Davis, John was a student in the Engineering and Public Policy program at Carnegie Mellon University. While at Carnegie Mellon his studies and research focused primarily upon quantitative risk analysis and decision theory. After attending Carnegie Mellon, John accepted a job at the Texas Department of Public Safety. While at the Department, he provided technical support as both a Network Administrator and Database Administrator. During his time with the Department, he also managed the Fingerprint and Records Bureau of the Crime Records Service. John graduated with honors from the University of Texas School of Law at Austin. While at the University of Texas, he was a member of The Review of Litigation and served as Administrative Editor of the Journal during his third year of law school. Upon graduation in 2001, John joined the firm of Fletcher Yoder. John is a member of the Texas Bar and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Since joining Fletcher Yoder, John has focused his practice primarily on patent preparation and prosecution. In particular, his practice has included the drafting of patent applications and the preparation of responses to communications from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. In addition, John’s practice has also focused on the preparation of pre-litigation opinions for clients, including non-infringement and invalidity opinions, and on performing product clearance and due diligence work for clients. John’s areas of technical knowledge include medical imaging, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computer tomography (CT), positron emission tomography (PET), single positron emission computed tomography (SPECT), X-ray radiography, mammography, ultrasound, and tomosynthesis. In addition, John has worked extensively in the area of medical monitoring, including in the fields of oximetry, capnography, and electrocardiography (ECG), and in the area of medical interventional and non-interventional medical devices. In addition, John has worked extensively in the area of consumer electronic devices, such as cellular telephones and digital media players, as well as in the field of manufacturing and processing polymeric compositions. John became a shareholder of Fletcher Yoder, effective January 2008. |
