Avery Cate

Avery graduated from Rice University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. During her time at Rice, Avery performed research on the mechanical properties of carbon nanotube reinforced composites.

As a member of a senior design team, she designed and prototyped an electronic pegboard to help clinicians assess gains in the manual dexterity of cerebral palsy patients. This project received the grand prize in the Undergraduate Design Project Competition at the 2011 Summer Bioengineering Conference.

After receiving her undergraduate degree, Avery joined Fletcher Yoder as a technical advisor.
